3.1.1 18-Dec-98
- Bug fix: CommuniGator could crash on Command-[ or Command-] when no windows were on the screen.

3.1 27-Nov-98
- Hirarchical local mailboxes implemented.
- Navigation Services now supported. To utilize them you either need MacOS 8.5 or 7.5+ with Navigation library manually installed into your Extensions folder.
- Now you can save faxes as TIFFs (either in single multipage file, or several single-page files in a folder).
- Working offline implemented. While offline you can only browse your archived mail, you can't reply or create new messages.
- Contextual menus support implemented. Theit activated by Ctrl-clicking various window contents in MacOS 8.
- Dynamic scrolling implemented (Available with MacOS 8.0 and later).
- Proportional scrollbars implemented Available with MacOS 8.5 and later).

- Mailbox structure changed:

All local mailboxes now are get created in "Custom Mailboxes" folder inside "User" folder.
CG Converter application now supplied to make these updates automaticaly. You should run it once before lainching CommuniGate 3.1- Window menu that contains list of opened windows implemented, Mailboxes menu eliminated.
- View Part menuitem in Message menu implemented. Currently 3 parts supported: Text, Fax and Source (the source parts are available with Server 3.0 and higher).
- Multiple signatures implemented. The default signature is still unselectable and limited to 255 bytes.
- 'Apply Rules' checkbox implemented in Station Settings/Notification. So now you don't need to open messages to apply station rules automatically.
- 'Bring CommuniGator to Foreground' checkbox implemented in Station Settings/Notification.
- Default (desired) message window width and height items implemented in Station Settings/Display Options.
- 'Strip Fonts' option for automate romoval fonts and styles info from messages being sent implemented in Station Settings/Send.
- Automatic quotes colorising implemented in Station Settings/Text Formatting. It does the same as Select All + Colorise Quotes, applied to plain text messages only.

- Now you can put spaces and unprintable characters into subject part of Mailto URL: <mailto:someone@somewhere.net?subject=whatever%20you%20wish>.
- Fax window now shows the total number of pages.
- The suggested memory partition size is increased from 1300K to 1500K.
- Bug fix: after transferring to local mailbox, messages with subjects longer than 30 characters displayed wrong dates in the mailbox window.
- Bug fix: moving text via Drag&Drop into subject window didn't update the scrollbar.

- The suggested memory partition size is increased from 1200K to 1300K.

- The Address book Editors use resizeable windows now.

- Two new file types supported : 'eCmh' and 'eCmH' for user and administrator help documents, simular to SimpleText 'ttro' files. The application does not try to connect to the server when you are trying to open these documents offline.

- The "Insert Sound" menuitem replaced with "Insert Object". Now you can insert recorded sounds, soundfiles, pictures, or texts from text files.
- The"Activate Service Now" and "Activate Line Now" commands are implemented for monitor windows.
- Address data in a plain text form can be added to the Recipients field with the Paste command, and using the drag-and-drop method.
- Faxes are scrolled when you drag selection outside the window.
- The Delivery History message information is displayed now.
- The number of lines in logs is displayed now.
- The Mailto event now can handle URLs with the additional data, as: <mailto:aaa@xxx.com?subject=sometext>.

2.7.2 27-May-97
- The Insert Quote Marks and Remove Quote Marks commands are added to the Text->Format menu.
- The Fwd: prefix in subjects is ignored when sorting messages by subject.
- The Unwrap command does not merge paragraphs now.
- The Delayed and Suspended address statuses are displayed correctly now.
- The Find Mailbox command is implemented. It shows the mailbox the frontmost opened letter resides in.
- Logs with more than 65000 lines are displayed correctly now.
- All "Mail for..." folders are not required to reside in the same folder as the CommuniGator application now. You can put an alias named "Mail Folder" into the same folder as the CommuniGator application, and make that alias point to a folder that contains all "Mail for..." folders.
- Letters, monitors, and server mailboxes windows are closed faster now. When a server connection is broken, those windows are closed witout generating error alerts.
2.7.1 12-May-97
- Now you can create a new letter directly from the Address Book editor window by selecting recipient addresses.
- The Text Formatting panel is implemented in the Station Settings list.
- Now the address books panel (the CommuniGate Client Modules file) can be stored in the same folder as the CommuniGator application - this is useful if you have only one copy if the application on the File Server: this allows to keep one copy of the CommuniGate Clients module file, too. Remember that the FaxSender cannot find the module file there.
- The Text Wrap width can be user-configurable now.
- TheĆColorise Quotes formatting function is implemented. The Text Formatting panel allows to change the quote colors.
- The Text menu has been modified.
- Command-L shortcut assigned for the Attach File... menu item.
- Bug fix: launching CommuniGator on a computer with improperly selected printer driver caused crashing.
- Bug fix: Station Rules Editor is fixed.
2.7 05-May-97
- This version can connect to both CommuniGate Server and to the Stalker Internet Mail Server.
- The Sender Address and the Sender Name rule conditions are implemented.
- Now only To: and Cc: addresses are printed in message headers.
- The Binding Margin Print option is implemented. It allows to leave 1 inch of blank space on the left side of a page.
2.6.1 02-May-97
- Some interface elements of the Log viewer are improved.
- The Return character can be entered in dialog texts window by pressing option-enter.
- User names are added to the In Box and Out Box window titles.
- The Online help is implemented.
- The message scrollbar behavior is changed. Now the scrolling is not so "jumpy" for large pictures embedded into a message text.
- The User Editor allows an adminitrator to edit User Settings and User Rules of other accounts.
- Bug fix: (in version 2.6) attempts to remove open resource could crash.
- Bug fix: with the Intelligent Cut &Paste option turned on, deleting the first character in a word deleted the preceding space, too.
- Bug fix: The Wrap command sometimes left spaces at the beginning of a line.
2.6 23-Apr-97
- The new Address Book panel interface is implemented. This version requires the new Address Books panel (the CommuniGate Clients Modules file).
- The basic AppleScript interface is implemented (the AE dictionary is included).
- Address sector dialog box has been improved.
- Letters in local mailboxes can be redirected as the server letters now (i.e. without opening them). To redirect them in the old way (with opening), press the Option key.
- Tabulation size is now stored in messages containing styled text.
- Option-Delete deletes immediately, ignoring the Trash option settings.
- Text formatting is implemented: it allows you to wrap the message text (using 72-character long strings) and to unwrap it.
- The AutoWrap Statation Setting option is implemented. It allows to autowrap all messages before they are submitted to the CommuniGate Server.
- The About window has changed.
- Bug fix: connection problems could result in a ghost unremovable dialog box on the screen.
2.5.4 10-Apr-97
- The RFC Header Rule Condition is implemented.
- Resources and rules renaming is implemented.
- Names to newly created resources and Rules can be assigned when these objects are being stored.
- Redirected letters contain all original To: and Cc: addresses now.
- Bug fix: if a Special From address was specified, redirected messages had that address used as the Sender address.
2.5.3 26-Mar-97
- The Drag &Drop interface for Address Books implemented (the "CommuniGate Client Modules" file is updated, too).
- The Address Books command is added to the Edit menu; it allows to edit address books without opening a new message.
- Holding the Option key whith the Insert Sound command allows you to select a prerecorded sound from a sound file.
- Bug fix: changing the notification sound inside CommuniGator application didn't change it for Notifier.
- Bug fix: after switching between text and fax bodies, vertical bar scrolled by several text lines instead of one line.
2.5.2 25-Feb-97
- Addresses can be dragged from an address book now.
- Faxes are scrolled by 20 points (i.e. faster) now. You still can scroll faxes by 1 point by dragging the scrollbar thumb.
- The Gray Borders option for fax displaying is implemented.
- Bug fix: it inserted an 'GURL'-supplied address as 'From'.
- Bug fix: it was not possible to paste addresses into the 'Address Selector' window.
2.5.1 17-Feb-97
- The Intelligent Cut &Paste option is implemented; in this mode, it removes an extra space between remaining words when you cut a word and it inserts a space when you paste a word between other words.
- Stationeries support is implemented; if you open a letter stationery, its From and supplementary addresses will be replaced with yours; it is recommended to rebuild your Desktop file once after you install this version.
- Now you can drag messages from queues to the Out Box. This operation is equivalent to Send Again.
- Bug fix: the Undo operation applied to an uneditable message text marked it as modified.
- Bug fix: on PPC machines, it did not save dates in Rule conditions correctly.
2.5 05-Feb-97
- Station Settings: an option to print letter headers on the first page only is implemented; if the header is bigger than the printer page, this mode is turned on automatically.
- The "Private Books" folder inside the "Mail for XXXX" folder is created for keeping private address books.
- Dragging attachments from received letters and dropping them on the desktop is implemented.
- "Mark as Important/Unimportant" rule actions implemented.
- The "Open Mailer when Reading Mail" Display Option is implemented.
- A user with the "postmaster" privelege can Reply on, Forward, and Redirect any message from any server's queue.
- Bug fix: sometimes printing resulted in the "Not enough memory" error.
- Bug fix: the Recipient "Delay" dialog box fields could contain garbage on open.
- Bug fix: typing when a new message was coming in could crash the program.
- Bug fix: the Search in "addresses" did not work properly for the InBox.

2.4 30-Dec-96
- The updated CommuniGate Client Modules file is included (should be installed in the Extensions folder).
- The Word Services protocol is supported. Now CommuniGator can be integrated with external (third-party) spell and grammar checkers that work as Word Servers.
- Internet Config is supported now (v.1.1 or better is needed). To launch URLs, Command-double-click the URL text in a message.
- The Important message status flag is implemented.
- Dropping folderes into the Attachments field is implemented.
- When Replying, only the selected text is copied into the Reply message.
- The Misc Options item in Station Settings is implemented (now you can get rid of the annoying server messages).
- The "Close Letters on Transfer To:" Misc. Option is implemented. This option is in effect only when using the Transfer To command in an opened letter window.
- The 'pdoc' event supported: now you may print CommuniGator documents from Finder.

- It is a FAT application now.
- The "Open..." command is added to the File menu to allow you to open disk files. The old "Open" command is renamed to "Open Selection" (Open Messages, Open Addresses, Open Attachments, etc).
- Attached files can be opened as letters without saving them to disk (the "Open Attachment" command in the File menu);
- The Empty Trash... alert is automaticaly canceled after 20 seconds.
- Bug Fix: Dragging-selection in a queue window could result in crash.
